Sheridan Online Presence

A major component of Sheridan’s new brand, and one of the most important communication tools for the institution, is its website. Kaldor was responsible for redesigning the site, and worked closely with Sheridan’s web team to bring it to life.

Challenge

Sheridan required a sophisticated website that would speak clearly and reflect the school’s new brand and values. Primarily for use by prospective students, alumni, staff and current students, the site needed to hold a vast amount of information and be able to present it to the user in a beautiful, simple and intuitive interface, on any device. Accessibility and usability were paramount.

Thinking

Kaldor and the Sheridan team worked closely on all aspects of the web usability and design. Our first task was to determine target groups, organize and distill content and think through usability across all devices. Significant attention to site mapping and wireframes ensured that we had a robust plan before commencing user interface design. In the design stage we brought the site to life through the use of video, beautiful photography, compelling story-telling and integration of social media.

Results

The result is a fully responsive site, with a flexible, modular panel system. The new site launched in fall 2013, and we continue to work with the Sheridan team to add to the content, design and functionality of the site.

Various user group can access bucketed relevant information by using the secondary navigation bar on the home page.
The goal of the Curiosities blog was to combine and showcase the wealth of interesting stories and content coming out of Sheridan and provide relevant industry stories to the wider Sheridan community. The banner image is used to highlight students through their original artwork.
