This fall, the Kaldor team welcomed a new Creative Director. Martin Batten brings a certain white-haired wisdom to the studio — both literally and figuratively.
He’s been in the business for ages, having spent the last 17 years as Creative Director and then VP Creative Director for creative agency Karo.
Martin has worked with clients including Simon Fraser University, Port Metro Vancouver, Vancity, Vancity Community Foundation, Fairmont Hotels, City of Richmond, The Corporation of Delta, VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation, Neuchatel Junior College, Grosvenor, BCIT, Fortis BC, Swiss Chalet, The Vancouver Canucks, The Miami Heat, Nestlé, Corby Spirit and Wine Ltd., Ledcor, AimCo, Cadillac Fairview, Park Royal, Concord Pacific, Intracorp, Labatts, Molsons and Wild Rose Brewery (to name but a few).
A few things you should know about Martin: he’s British, so he tips our studio scale even further toward English/Irish dominance. He grew up in Saskatchewan. He has a poodle called Poppy, and a tattoo of a Celtic dog in honour of his late grandfather. He is an Aquarius. His biggest regret is deciding to drink with his art school friends instead of going to see a new band called The Smiths, who were playing mere metres away. He’s got mad fencing skills (though he has yet to prove it).
Welcome, Martin. We’re thrilled you’re here.
