Challenge: Judith Marcuse Projects (JMP) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to youth and arts activism. They required a user-friendly website to effectively promote the JMP-produced Earth: The World Urban Festival — the UNESCO-designated arts and culture festival of the World Urban Forum. The site had to reflect JMP’s brand, outline the festival’s program, and inspire action from a diverse, global audience.
Our Thinking: We created the Earth Festival website with the idea that it must be simple and straightforward to embrace an international audience and wide age group. To capture the youthful energy of JMP's performances (and to reinforce the JMP brand), we utilized bright, organic colours and shapes. We included a "get involved" link on each page to build community and encourage participation in the festival.
Results: JMP's Earth: The World Urban Festival website went live in May 2006. It provided an easy, engaging means for anyone, anywhere in the world, to learn about and get involved in the festival.
