UBC International Student Initiative

 
 
 

Challenge: UBC's goal was to increase its international student enrolment along with its stature overseas by attracting high-calibre students from around the globe.

Our Thinking: We transformed a tangled web of admissions information into a recruitment book and campaign that was intuitive and easily understood by people from varying cultures. Using the voices of actual international students, we positioned UBC as a global university and leading research institution. We then married those messages with breathtaking shots that highlighted one of UBC's key selling features for the international crowd: the natural beauty of UBC’s two campuses in Vancouver and Kelowna.

Results: Kaldor has produced UBC’s ISI catalogue and companion marketing materials for the past four years, and in the process helped UBC outperform other schools in international recruitment. The newly designed Get Started Guide, which prepares students to move to Canada, is expected to build on that tradition by giving UBC ISI another marketing tool to promote the university at the key decision-making moment.
