Challenge: In 2009 Coast Capital Savings challenged Kaldor to find a way to engage and educate employees about their new banking platform. Coast wanted to generate buy-in from staff and communicate important information around a significant change that will affect staff at all levels.
Thinking: In order to create a communication piece that would inform and not bore our target market, we translated the new Coast banking system into an animated digital character named SAM. We told the business story of SAM through a short flash animation, featuring the CEO of Coast Capital and her journey of finding SAM (the perfect banking system). Other campaign deliverables included a logo for the new banking system, signage and employee print communication.
Results:
The animation was distributed by Coast Capital Savings to all employees with glowing enthusiasm. Coast Capital plans to continue building on the success of their debut animation with additional animated clips in the lead-up to their official launch
in 2011.
